I have no idea what the Raiders could possibly be thinking by bringing in
Jeff George. This guy was always a bit of a head case when he was in his prime, so I have no idea how they expect him to be productive after having not thrown a pass in an NFL game for five years. He's nearly 40, which isn't necessarily "too old" - but when you have someone who's sat for so long it's tough to make sense of this move. Particularly when the Raiders already have three quarterbacks in camp. Granted none of them are superstars, but Jeff George?
It's been a long five years since the Redskins brought in George to only find he wasn't the answer for them either. However, I guess that the Raiders realize that George's best season did come while wearing silver and black. In 1997, he tossed 29 touchdowns with only nine interceptions and threw for nearly 4,000 yards. Maybe some people think there's a bit of mileage left in George's arm. I'm just not one of them.
