Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinatieri has an injury that
some are speculating could keep him sidelined for the season opener and possibly even week 2. An extended injury to Vinatieri could be quite detrimental to Indy's hopes of getting out of the gate to a fast start.
This will be a transition year for the Colts' offense, as they will line up without superstar running back Edgerrin James who is now in Arizona. Although I'm hearing good things about James' replacement Joseph Addai, a rookie out of LSU, it is likely that the Colts will be needing to kick a few more field goals than normal without James to help move the ball down the field. Extended bench time to Vinatieri would complicate matters further. Of course, if Peyton Manning is on his "A" game right out of the box, maybe there won't be any need for field goal attempts.
